Our Story

Hi, I’m Murray. I was born and raised here in Revelstoke, and I’ve been building things for as long as I can remember. As a kid I was always into Lego, dragging tools out of my dad’s shop, and putting together tree forts, bike features, and anything else I could dream up. Growing up skiing, biking, paddling, and exploring the mountains around here really shaped who I am.

I started my working life at Southside Market and later as a labourer for Vic Van Isle. After realizing business college wasn’t for me, I went straight into my electrical apprenticeship through SAIT and Okanagan College. Since then, I’ve worked just about everywhere! Residential, commercial, industrial, solar… from small home renos here in town to big industrial projects across Western Canada, including work for BC Hydro, Downie Timber, the Alberta oil sands, LNG Canada, and more. Along the way, I earned my Class A FSR Master Electrician certification.

After years of traveling for work, I wanted to come home and build something of my own. Something grounded in community, fairness, and good workmanship. That’s how Goldstream Electric began. My goal is simple: do quality work, treat people well, communicate clearly, and offer fair, practical solutions that make sense for homeowners and businesses in Revelstoke.

When I’m not on the tools, you’ll usually find me outside; skiing, biking, hiking, paddling, woodworking, or spending time with my partner, family, friends, and animals. Revelstoke has always been home, and I’m proud to be building a business here that reflects the values I grew up with.
